Huevonazo of the Week: Tottenham Ball Boy

Granted, the hit was just above the nether region, and the video has been all around the blogosphere this weekend. But how could I not post this huevonazo from this year’s UEFA Cup. An athlete took an intentional hit from a mischievous ball boy; what’s not to love?

Ichiro Suzuki Sings: “The Appalachian Mountain Range University It Is Hot!”

This past Friday night, Seattle Mariners star Ichiro was up late in Pioneer Square when he decided to hit a karaoke bar with a few American teammates. One of his teammates, an avid college football fan, told him about Appalachian State’s historic upset over Michigan just a few weeks ago. He responded, through his translator, that he admired the small school’s fighting spirit, and wanted to acknowledge them in some way. And so he asked the karaoke DJ, again through his translator, if there was any particular song to which he could dedicate App State’s historic victory. The DJ played the obvious choice, “Appalachian is HOT! HOT HOT!”.

The following is a transcript of what Ichiro and his translator sang in the ensuing two and a half minutes. Do not laugh, lest ye face the wrath of Suzuki-san’s Maplewood Katana.

Huevonazo of the Week: Japanese Baseball Video Game

Wow…these video games are getting waaaaaaaaay too realistic. This week’s huevonazo is from a new video game, “Gekkikuukan Pro Yakyuu”, based on the Nippon Baseball league.

My favorite part is, after a moment of him reacting badly to the hit, the batter just gets back up as acts like nothing happened. I can envision Ichiro doing just that if he gets a hit like that. He would spend 30 seconds writhing in pain, then head right back to the batter’s box and hit a line drive RBI double.

Huevonazo of the Week: Robin van Persie

It hurts bad enough when some guy comes up behind you and kicks between your legs as hard as he can. It’s even worse when he plays for your most hated rival.

Here we see Arsenal striker Robin van Persie take a really good huevonazo from a former Tottenham defender, who I’m fairly certain is Swede Erik Edman.
