Welcome to Digital Headbutt. As of this posting I am using this blog for the purpose of JOMC 711: Writing for Digital Media (a UNC class); however I intend to maintain this blog and post over the long term. So, a little about myself:

I am a student in the Graduate Certificate Program at UNC’s School of Journalism (the program through which I am taking 711). Born in Boston, my family has lived in Chapel Hill, NC since 1995. I completed my first college degree, an AS in Math at Louisburg college (NC) in 2001 at age 14, and a BA in Chemistry in 2004. As a Tarheel bred and a member of Red Sox Nation, I spend a large free time either watching my teams or trying to emulate them in my backyard. If not I’m problably watching The Matrix for the 27th time.

This this the fourth course that I have have taken in the Certificate program, and the second with a blog. My other blog is bloggalicious.squarespace.com/ . This is the only experience I have in writing online, so I still have a lot to learn. I hope to be able to apply what I learn in this class into maintaining a long-term blog and ultimately the creation of several websites.

I actually have several pet peeves:

-When some one talks about the Curse of the Bambino. Before the Sox won it all in 2004, the media bashed this into my head every chance they got. It started with a writer in 1990 and it spread like the myth that the moon landing was in a studio.

-When talking political heads on CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc. don’t know what the &^$! they are talking about. Find an expert! If I wanted senseless yelling for an hour I would talk to my cousin about his “temper issues”.

- When rival fans sit in the Tar Heel student section. They’re putting themselves in danger, and they make a point to rub a loss in our faces. Totally uncalled for.

-Clowns. They just creep me out.

-Riverdance. Tapdancers on crack.
Anyway, I have given you WAY too much information about me so I’ll stop here. I look forward to the class and to conversing with you all this semester.

Whatever
